What is uPVC?

The acronym uPVC stands for Unplasticised Poly-Vinyl Chloride. It is a material used for doors and windows that is strong, tough, and resilient compared with typical aluminium, steel, and timber systems in Caribbean conditions. Unlike flexible PVC, uPVC contains no plasticising resins, which creates a rigid structure.

What colours are available?

Domuv uPVC windows and doors come in one colour: white. White surfaces reflect heat and allow you to change wall, curtain, and furniture colours over time. Darker colours transmit more heat into rooms.

Why uPVC instead of steel or aluminium?

Accepted Answer

uPVC needs little maintenance, will not rust like steel, and avoids many aluminium issues in salt and humidity such as oxidation, shrinking gaskets, and corner leaks. Domuv frames do not transfer heat the same way metal does, and will not rot, darken, fade, or peel like many painted metal systems.

Do you have energy-efficient options?

uPVC frames do not radiate solar energy like metal windows. Laminate and Solar E glass provide heat insulation, with Solar E reducing heat gain by about 50% on relevant elevations. That can lower air-conditioning demand and slow UV fading of curtains and drapes.

Can your windows reduce sound?

Security laminate glass is sound reducing and helps eliminate a tremendous amount of outdoor noise such as cars, dogs, and music.

Do you install in Jamaica?

What about warranty?

All uPVC frames are guaranteed for twenty (20) years. Hardware and laminated glass are guaranteed for five (5) years. Confirm current terms on your quote and Domuv warranty documents.

Yes. Domuv offers several sizes, types, and combinations of products, with thousands of customisation options including grill options, bug screens, and several glass thickness and colour options.

Can I paint the windows?

Accepted Answer

We do not recommend painting Domuv windows. If painted, the warranty will be voided.

Start with your priority: everyday economy (Basic), laminate security (Security), or storm-season impact (Hurricane). A Domuv specialist will map openings to Performance, Supreme, or the security and hurricane tiers.
